Susan Cavarra is an AHPRA Endorsed Counselling Psychologist with fifteen years experience working within both the psychiatric (hospital and community) and drug and alcohol settings. Susan also has a further four years training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy as well as relationships counselling training. She has held senior management positions in the private hospital setting and is also an AHPRA approved student supervisor. In addition to this, Susan has also worked in private practice for the past eight years working with adults experiencing a wide range of mental, emotional and addiction related issues. She predominantly works within a psychodynamic, CBT, and trauma-informed framework assisting clients to build insight, as a precondition for change. Susan incorporates Mindfulness Compassion, Attachment Theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy into her work to help clients adjust to, and improve their lives.
